Competition Items

Every competition, the grades that may enter it and the pieces to prepare. A student’s school grade decides which competitions they can enter.

Competitions

As given in the official 2026 Sunday School Talent Fest Items. Bible passages are from the NIV, 2011 or newer.

Grades 1–10 Individual item

English Solo

  • Grades 1–2 O How I Love Jesus
  • Grades 3–4 Wonderful Words of Life
  • Grades 5–6 Great is Thy Faithfulness
  • Grades 7–8 Be Thou My Vision
  • Grades 9–10 The Old Rugged Cross
Grades 1–10 Individual item

Malayalam Solo

Storytelling

The story shall be in English and based on any Bible passage. See the Talent Fest Guidelines and Rules document for further guidance.

Grades 5–8 Individual item

Elocution

  • Grades 5–6 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9
  • Grades 7–8 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14

NIV Version 2011 or newer.

Grades 5–10 Group item

Bible Quiz

  • Grades 5–10 Gospel of Matthew (NIV Version 2011 or newer)

Questions can include one-word answers, ‘who said to whom and when’, fill in the blanks, ‘name the following’, and True or False. When False, the correct response must be provided.

Group Song

  • Grades 5–10 It Is Well with My Soul (English, mandatory) and a Malayalam Christian song of your choice

Eligibility

Who can enter what

A student’s school grade decides which competitions they can enter. The registration system only offers, and only accepts, the competitions open to that grade. Group Song can be a student’s only competition.
